Hi to All,
Dan was inspired to paint “Farm on Joshuatown Road” (Old Lyme, Connecticut) because of his childhood tie to the area. He loved taking car rides, with his parents, on this road because of the beautiful scenery. And one of his favorite places was this farm-and one day, we were out taking a ride. (Of course, always prepared, camera in tow), and we came up on the farm, late in the day. At this particular time, the light was enhancing the view Dan loved, and we stopped so that he could photograph. Dan always felt that this farm would make an awesome painting, and so it came to pass. (The palette used was a limited one of warm darks and soft lights).
The Lyme Art Association also felt that this made a good painting. We entered “Farm at Joshuatown Road” into a juried show at the LAA (Lyme Art Association), and it was accepted. The show is “Summer Painting and Scupture” which runs from June 15 to July 29, 2012 at 90 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut 06371. If you are in the area, we hope that you will stop in and see all the beautiful art there-it is a very nice show. And you also, can purchase the art through the LAA-great gift for your home or office or for someone special.
Please feel free to contact us, if you have any questions or concerns-we will be happy to be of assistance. We also have posted this painting and others on the www.Yessy.com website, and also on our website http:www.danielsdahlstromartist.com
It is an awesome day here in New England-hopefully, the same is for you!
