Dan and I took another ride to Voila Gallery in Wickford, RI to swap out some of his paintings. We love going to Wickford. It is such a cute and quaint town, and our trip from Connecticut to Rhode Island was on a beautiful, crisp and clear winter’s day.
Of course, you can view Dan’s wall of paintings at the gallery, including “Winter’s Night in New England.” As usual, he was inspired by one of our excursions-we were heading back from dinner and the light, shadows, and water caught his attention. And as usual, out came the camera (it is always with us), and he was busy for awhile planning this composition. Lucky for him we had already eaten, and I was content to sit in a warm car, just about napping. A New England winter’s night can be very captivating with a fresh, blanket of snow and deep shadows cast across the landscape. Dan’s composition is structured around that winter night, and depicts the essence of the landscape.
Please stop in and visit the gallery–you will enjoy the artwork by all the artists.
As I’m writing this and looking out my home office window, I just discovered that it is snowing. Dan is rummaging around in his studio, perhaps getting ready for another inspiration.
