Studying the Connecticut River and Connecticut Shoreline is one of my passions, and then capturing that atmosphere and all the water's nuances on canvas. Watching the subtle play of light and shadow at dawn is part of my creative process, and then using my brushes to relate what I envision. My goal is to depict the colors and composition of the New England landscape onto my painting and utimately to the viewer. Nature is my muse.
After experimenting with watercolors, acrylics and oils, my choice of medium became oils because of its creaminess and texture. I like the way the paint lays on the canvas or linen. My style or technique, involves the brush, painter's knife, or a combination of both. This creates richer color tones and more depth to the application of the product onto the painted surface.
The viewer, of my work, is invited to become part of my New England landscapes and seascapes. I want them to be transported to the colors and tranquility of nature, and feel as if they are an element of the artwork and can just walk into it. Thus, becoming a component of the process, and there with me--in time and space.
My passion and drive helps me constantly evolve in my craft, and find new ways to experiment with light, color and texture.
This is my symphony-"The Symphony of Nature".
I just love to paint!!
